As General Counsel for Braintree Hospitality, Brian brings a problem-solving mentality to each and every transaction. Led by Brian, the Braintree legal team promotes smarter growth by identifying and mitigating risks, and creating and fostering partnerships that last.
Brian began his legal career at Snow Christensen & Martineau, the oldest law firm in the state of Utah, as a commercial litigator with special focus on employment law. Brian was named a Mountain States Super Lawyer Rising Star in the area of employment litigation defense during his years in private practice, and served as a Utah State Bar Commissioner. As a litigator, Brian learned the legal landscape from the lens of broken relationships between companies, and between employers and employees. That foundation guides Brian as General Counsel at Braintree, where he works to develop and solidify relationships that will benefit all of the parties involved, and avoid the unfortunate breakups he navigated as a litigator.
When he’s not working, Brian enjoys spending his free time with his wife Lindsay and their four children, or mentoring young men in his community, through his local church. Brian’s love for his family and his faith are rivaled only by his obsessions with Duke basketball and Texas barbecue.
